Job summary

MNP in Canada is seeking an Accountant for Assurance and Accounting starting in Fall 2027. You will join a diverse team delivering expert financial reporting and advisory services to mid-market clients.

Responsibilities include preparing statements, applying IFRS/GAAP/ASPE, setting up client files, managing multiple engagements, and collaborating with engagement teams. A accounting degree and CPA prerequisites are preferred; travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in commerce or business administration with accounting/finance focus preferred.
• Prerequisites for CPA Professional Education Program (PEP) upon employment.
• Experience with accounting or tax software is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical skills in compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping and tax.
• Set up files for new clients and newly incorporated businesses; manage multiple files.
• Perform accounts receivable, accounts payable, asset purchases/dispositions and payroll walk-through.
• Summarize financial status by preparing balance sheets, income statements and reports.
• Assess audit evidence for expenses, revenues, assets and liabilities.
• Review discrepancies and correct irregularities in entries and reports.
• Establish charts of accounts and posting entries.
• Prepare correspondence, client summaries and presentations of engagement findings.
• Collaborate with engagement team and client contacts; contribute to process improvements.
