Job summary

MNP in Kenora, ON is seeking an Accountant in Assurance and Accounting to join a growth‑minded team. You will contribute to compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping and tax while applying IFRS/GAAP/ASPE standards to client work.

The role emphasizes collaboration with client teams, preparation of financial statements, and ongoing professional development. Travel flexibility is required as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration, accounting/finance major preferred.
• Completion of CPA Professional Education Program prerequisites anticipated at start of employment.
• Previous accounting office experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Develop skills in compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping and tax.
• Apply IFRS/GAAP/ASPE knowledge in client work.
• Set up client files and manage multiple engagements.
• Perform AR/AP, payroll walk-throughs and reports for clients.
• Prepare balance sheets, P&L and other financial reports.
• Review entries and investigate discrepancies in financial documents.
• Establish chart of accounts and posting entries.
• Prepare client communications, reports and presentations on findings.
• Collaborate with engagement team and client contacts.
• Support process improvements using internal systems.
• Travel as required.
