Job summary

Saputo Inc. is seeking a 4th Class Operating Engineer to oversee the safe operation and maintenance of utilities and facilities in our plant.

You will manage high-pressure boilers, ammonia refrigeration, and related equipment while supervising contractors during shifts. The role offers full-time permanent employment, a 4th Class license requirement, and a competitive compensation package with premiums for weekend work and dual tickets.

Qualifications

• 4th Class Operating Engineer or Refrigeration Operator Class B License required.
• Minimum 1 year hands-on experience in manufacturing, ammonia refrigeration, steam boilers, and related equipment.
• High pressure boilers and ammonia refrigeration experience required.
• Familiar with H&S, GMP, HACCP, and BRC procedures.
• Ability to maintain accurate written records in a CMMS system.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily logs and preventative maintenance in the plant (refrigeration, boilers, air compressors).
• Directly supervise contractors during shifts.
• Operate and maintain the ammonia refrigeration plant (process cooling and warehouse).
• Complete all required documentation (work orders, logbooks, etc.).
• Ensure parts availability to minimize downtime and ensure safe operation.
