Job summary

Nova Scotia Health is seeking a 4th Class Engineer to troubleshoot, maintain and repair facility infrastructure, including boilers and medical gas systems. You will ensure smooth building operations and comply with boiler regulations while traveling to sites as needed.

The role is a permanent full-time position (75 hours biweekly) with health, dental, and pension benefits, and requires the capacity to work independently in a dynamic hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of NS Power Engineering Regulations, Pressure Vessel Act and related CSA and ASME codes.
• Must be able to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• In-depth knowledge of building mechanical systems including medical gas/vacuum systems.
• Willingness to travel to other sites within the zone.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs facility infrastructure equipment.
• Operates and monitors boilers and related systems per NS regulations.
• Performs maintenance tasks as directed by Chief Engineer or designate.
