Job summary

Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL) in Port Hope, Ontario, is seeking a Port Hope Long-Term Waste Management Facility (LTWMF) Student for an 8-month term (January–August). The role combines environmental remediation knowledge with project documentation and field support, contributing to Canada’s largest environmental cleanup initiative.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a College or University program related to Environmental Remediation or Administration, Engineering (all disciplines), Environmental Science, or a BSc or related program.
• Experience or exposure to environmental remediation, construction projects, municipal infrastructure, or project coordination is an asset.
• Proven ability to communicate clearly, organize, and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support the planning, coordination, and implementation of technical work packages for remediation and construction projects.
• Assist with activities related to the LTWMF and other major remediation sites.
• Review technical studies, reports, and project documentation for quality and accuracy.
• Assist project teams with technical deliverables and project support activities.
• Support field oversight activities and site operations as required.
• Collect, track, organize, and file project information and data.
• Coordinate receipt, management, and upload of electronic documents and drawings into project databases.
• Maintain project records and support document control activities.
• Assist with operational and construction-related activities on-site.
• Participate in team meetings and support project communication activities.
• Other duties as assigned by your manager.

What we are looking for:

• Education

• Experience
  • Experience or academic exposure to environmental remediation, construction projects, municipal infrastructure, or project coordination is considered an asset.
  • Experience gained through co-op placements, summer employment, academic projects, volunteer activities, or extracurricular involvement is considered an asset.

• Security Clearance Eligibility Required
  • Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”

Working Conditions:

• Working schedule: Five (5) days per week, seven and a half (7.5) hours per day for a thirty-seven and a half (37.5) hour work week.
