Contract Position: June 30th until September 5th, 2025

The CNE, often affectionately referred to as The Ex, is Canada’s largest community event and one of the top ten agricultural fairs in North America. With something for everyone, our event offers a wide variety of attractions and interactive entertainment experiences including concerts, midway rides and games, shopping, exhibits, tech and gaming hubs, food and wacky treats!

The CNE fair is a cherished tradition, attracting approximately 1.5 million visitors annually over the course of its 18-day run. Be a part of this summer tradition and help us inspire Canadians and create memories.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Manager, Guest Services, you will be working within the Guest Servicesdepartment to assist the Guest Services Manager and Coordinator in the day-to-day functions within the department in coordinating and implementing the CNE Guest Services Programs. These programs include: CNE Trains, Lost and Found Kids, Lost and Found items, EMS, St John’s,Scouts, Info Booths, Info Line, Friends of the CNE & Sensory activations.


Responsibilities
  • Assist in supervising staff responsible for the core services groups with the CNE Guest
  • Services Department
  • Assist with determining staffing requirements and schedules
  • Assist in hiring and training all staff (and volunteers where applicable) in accordance
  • with appropriate legislation and CNE expectations
  • Assist in monitoring staff performance for purpose of performance reviews
  • Assist in tracking staff hours for payroll submission
  • Assist with move-in into Guest Services satellite locations:Trains trailer, Salon 102 (ECC), Better Living Centre, Scouts Canada locations etc.
  • Assist with move out of Guest Services satellite locations and assist with inventory,
  • packing, and storage
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Responsible, proactive, friendly, organized
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Experience supervising staff (preferred)
  • Proven organization and time management skills with attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with conflict
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment
  • Outstanding command of the English language, both verbal and written
  • Minimum G2 driver’s license
  • Ability to work up to and including Labour Day Monday
  • Flexibility to work, days, evenings, and/or weekends during the event, as required
Special Conditions
  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods and in allweather conditions (sun, heat, wind, cold, rain)
  • Ability to work until midnight as some shifts will require staying until closing
  • May be required to dress in appropriate uniform
