Job summary

Applytoeducation is seeking a Teacher Librarian for Fort Rupert Elementary School in Port Hardy, BC. This 0.14 FTE continuing position may be combined with JP40F and begins ASAP.

The successful candidate must hold BC Certification with librarian qualifications and demonstrate strong classroom management, multi-age teaching ability, and a collaborative approach with students, staff and parents. Salary ranges from $71,425 to $119,497 annually, with placement based on service and qualifications

Applications are invited from teachers with BC Certification for the following teaching position:

Fort Rupert Elementary School, Port Hardy, BC

0.14 FTE Continuing – Teacher Librarian

(may be combined with JP40F)

Commencing: ASAP

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

• elementary teaching experience;
• strong classroom management skills;
• the ability and energy to work with multi-age groups and meet the needs of students with a range of learning styles and abilities using a variety of teaching strategies;
• academic training, qualifications and recent successful experience as a teacher librarian;
• strong interpersonal, communication, and collaborative skills to communicate with students, staff, and parents in a team oriented approach to teaching and learning;
• experience with RTI (Response to Intervention) systems;
• ability to integrate technology to enhance student learning;
• strong interest in innovation and inquiry; and
• ability to embed local Indigenous culture and ways of knowing into teaching practices.

The starting annual salary for a full-time School Teacher position ranges from $71,425 to $119,497, with placement in the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. The Remote Recruitment and Retention allowance is available for SD85 teachers payable at $3,500 over ten months.
