HCS Engineering Pte Ltd in Brazil seeks a Senior Process Engineer to create CAD models, flat patterns, and manufacturing drawings for sheet metal components using SolidWorks and AutoCAD. You will develop complex parts and assemblies aligning with customer specs and manufacturing requirements.
You will lead NPI activities, support production teams, and design tooling and SOPs to improve productivity, reduce cost, and ensure quality and delivery objectives.
About the role
Senior Process Engineer role focused on creating CAD models, flat patterns, and manufacturing drawings for sheet metal components using SolidWorks and AutoCAD. You will develop complex sheet metal parts, assemblies and fabrication drawings based on customer specifications, engineering standards and manufacturing requirements, while designing and optimizing sheet metal products to meet customer requirements, manufacturability, cost, quality and delivery objectives.
Key responsibilities
Create CAD models, flat patterns, and manufacturing drawings for sheet metal components using SolidWorks, AutoCAD including BOM and Process flow as required
Develop complex sheet metal parts, assemblies and fabrication drawings based on customer specifications, engineering standards and manufacturing requirements
Design and optimize sheet metal products to meet customer requirements, manufacturability (DFM), cost, quality and delivery objectives
Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, including feasibility studies, process planning, risk assessment, prototype builds, and production readiness
Provide technical engineering support to production, fabrication, welding, assembly and quality teams to resolve manufacturing issues and improve productivity
Develop manufacturing processes, work instructions (WI), standard operating procedures (SOP), process flow, PFMEA and other engineering documentation
Design and implement innovative tooling, jigs and fixtures to improve productivity, reduce manufacturing cost, enhance product quality and improve process efficiency
Conduct engineering evaluations, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and continuous improvement initiatives
Support process validation, first article inspection (FAI), production trials, qualification builds and engineering change implementation (ECN/ECO)
Travel frequently to customer and supplier sites, both locally and overseas, to support project implementation, technical discussions, process improvement, equipment commissioning, production start-up and issue resolution
About you
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline
Minimum 5-8 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication, precision engineering or manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes including laser cutting, turret punching, bending, welding, machining and assembly
Familiar with CAM programming, nesting software and manufacturing process optimization
Able to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, welding symbols, surface finishes and geometric tolerances
Knowledge of manufacturing documentation including BOM, ECN, SOP, WI, PFMEA and process validation
Strong analytical, problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
Excellent communication, project coordination and customer-facing skills
Self-motivated, able to work independently and lead cross-functional teams
Willing to travel frequently, both locally and internationally
