Our client, a well-established multinational in the advanced manufacturing sector, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer focused on tooling and injection molding to support ongoing product development projects. You will develop precision mechanical assemblies for semiconductor manufacturing equipment and translate requirements into detailed designs.

Due to business expansion, they are recruiting Mechanical Design Engineer (Tooling & Injection Molding) to support ongoing product development projects. They are located in the North – easily accessible.
Develop and enhance precision mechanical assemblies and modules for semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
Translate product and engineering requirements into detailed mechanical design specifications.
Prepare 3D models, engineering drawings, and design documentation for product development activities.
Perform engineering analysis, including structural, thermal, vibration, and durability assessments to validate design performance.
Select suitable materials and components based on product performance, manufacturability, and reliability requirements.
Design tooling, fixtures, and mechanical components to support manufacturing and assembly processes.
Work closely with manufacturing teams to optimise designs for production readiness and cost efficiency.
Support product validation, prototype evaluation, and engineering change implementation throughout the development cycle.
Maintain compliance with engineering, quality, and safety standards throughout product development.
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Experience in mechanical design within semiconductor, precision engineering, automation, or high-tech manufacturing environments.
Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as Solid Edge, SolidWorks, Creo (Pro/ENGINEER), or AutoCAD.
Knowledge of mechanical design principles, material selection, and engineering analysis techniques.
Exposure to semiconductor packaging technologies, precision motion systems, thermal management, or vibration control will be advantageous.
Familiarity with Design for Manufacturability (DFM), prototype development, and engineering validation processes.
