In this role, you will work alongside ADP product owners to understand their challenges in creating, upgrading, or augmenting our products. You'll design technical solutions and guide a team of developers as they implement your design. You will promote architectural initiatives that drive revenue and improve efficiency aligned with business strategy. Each day starts with a scrum to identify priorities and may involve coding for critical parts.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Blueprints and Strategy: Influence and govern current and future architectural blueprints; promote initiatives that generate revenue, improve efficiency, and support business strategy.
• Scrums: Start every day with a scrum, working together to understand responsibilities, identify issues, and communicate design and coding priorities.
• Coding: While design is primary, coding may be required; guide developers and review code, stepping in for critical areas.
• Challenges: Seek solutions to inevitable challenges and embrace problem‑solving.
• Learning and Teaching: Technical expert on the team; develop fixes, present designs, invite feedback, and strengthen ideas through collaboration.
• Variety of Work: Allocate time to design or mentoring, or projects in quality assurance, security, UX, or other functions.
• Experience: Strong experience in relevant skills gained and developed in similar roles.

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Strong experience in software development/engineering with desirable experience as an architect.
• Hands‑on developing and architecting high‑volume systems.
• Deep knowledge of RESTful architecture and scalable API design.
• Cloud Native Architecture experience (AWS), including Docker containerization and Kubernetes.
• Event‑driven architecture and microservice design.
• Experience in Kafka architecture and design, including deep understanding of messages, partitions, and topics.
• High proficiency and hands‑on experience in Java programming language with design patterns.
• Experience with Spring, SpringBoot, and Hibernate.
• Experience building UIs with React or Angular/Redux/Web components.
• RDBMS (Oracle) and NoSQL databases such as Mongo or DynamoDB.
• Understanding of emerging trends and technologies in data management.
• Experience with GIT, Jenkins, Ansible, and public cloud services (AWS or Azure).
• Knowledge of build tools and dependency management systems like Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines, and TFS/GIT.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Comfortable operating in a scrum, agile, dynamic environment.

• Monitor technology changes, stay up‑to‑date on industry trends, and train staff on new technologies.
