Job summary

Novonesis is seeking a Senior Industry Technical Specialist, Beverages, to support breweries across Brazil and the region. You will lead technical activities, trials, and process optimizations while combining technical insight with commercial awareness.

In this highly customer-facing role, you will translate brewing challenges into practical solutions, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive adoption of biosolutions to enhance performance and sustainability.

Qualifications

• Degree in brewing science, food engineering, biotechnology or related field.
• Fluent English with strong communication skills.
• Experience with brewing industry operations and fermentation tech.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical customer support for brewing customers in the region.
• Plan, execute and analyze brewery and lab trials with defined protocols.
• Translate brewing challenges into practical, value-driven solutions.
• Provide expertise in raw materials, enzymes, yeast, filtration and beer quality.

You will join a collaborative commercial and technical team supporting customers across Brazil and the region. Working closely with Sales, Marketing, Innovation, Global Application Specialists, and R&D, you will help customers turn technical challenges into measurable business results while accelerating the adoption of sustainable brewing technologies.

The role & your impact

This is a highly customer-facing technical role with a regional scope. You will act as a trusted advisor to brewing customers, leading technical support activities, industrial trials, process optimization initiatives, and the implementation of Novonesis biosolutions. By combining technical expertise and commercial awareness, you will help create value for customers while contributing to business growth and innovation.

Your Key Responsibilities In This Role

• Lead technical customer support for brewing customers across the region, including process optimization, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and implementation of Novonesis biosolutions.
• Plan, execute, and follow up brewery and laboratory trials, defining protocols, success criteria, sampling plans, and data analysis requirements.
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers, translating brewing challenges into practical and value-generating solutions.
• Provide technical expertise in brewing processes, raw materials, enzymes, yeast performance, filtration, process optimization, sustainability, and product quality.
• Translate technical findings into clear recommendations, business value propositions, and actionable next steps for customers and account teams.
• Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, Innovation, Global Application Specialists, and R&D teams to develop and deploy differentiated solutions.
• Support commercialization and adoption of new technologies through customer demonstrations, industrial validations, and post-launch support.
• Deliver technical training programs for customers, distributors, and internal teams, contributing to capability building and knowledge sharing across the region.
• Identify customer needs, market trends, and emerging technical challenges, contributing to innovation pipelines and business development opportunities.
• Document technical activities, customer learnings, trial results, and best practices in accordance with Novonesis technical service standards and systems.

What you’ll need to be successful in this role

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Brewing Science, Food Engineering, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Microbiology, or a related discipline.
• Fluent English.
• Experience in the brewing industry, brewery operations, brewing ingredients, fermentation technology, or related technical functions.
• Strong understanding of brewing processes, including raw materials, mashing, fermentation, filtration, stabilization, and beer quality management.
• Experience conducting industrial trials, analyzing process data, and implementing technical solutions in brewery environments.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage customers and influence technical decisions.
• Ability and willingness to travel extensively and work directly with customers across the region.

Additional Skills & Interests We Value

• Knowledge of enzymes, yeast technologies, process aids, and sustainability initiatives within brewing.
• Spanish language skills.
• Experience supporting commercial teams in customer-facing technical roles.
