Jobtailor is seeking a Python developer specializing in geoprocessing to build radiometric image analysis workflows and cloud masking for orthophotos in São José dos Campos, Brazil.

You will implement scalable, modular Python components, optimize GPU/parallel processing, and collaborate with analysts to validate results against GIS data using GDAL, Rasterio, and OpenCV.

This role emphasizes testing, documentation, version control, and hands-on work with QGIS and PostGIS in enterprise pipelines.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in a geoprocessing-related field.
• Strong Python development experience in geoprocessing and image/raster processing.
• Proficiency with GDAL, Rasterio, NumPy, OpenCV.
• Experience with satellite/aerial imagery and TIF/GeoTIFF handling.
• Knowledge of statistics in image analysis and radiometric quality indicators.
• Familiarity with QGIS and PostGIS for geospatial data validation.
• Git version control and testing/logging practices.
• Autonomy to drive incremental development and communicate with stakeholders.
• Nice to have: CUDA, GeoSAM, SAM, remote sensing certifications and technical English.

Requirements

• Develop Python scripts for radiometric image analysis, extracting metrics and prioritizing outliers for human review.
• Develop Python scripts for cloud masking in TIF orthophotos, incorporating GeoSAM and other algorithms.
• Develop scripts to generate TIF tiles using a parameterizable grid, overlap, standardized naming, parallel processing, and processing resumption.
• Conduct unit, functional, and real-world production sample testing.
• Quantitatively compare current and new approaches using IoU, precision, recall, F1-score, throughput, and time per GB.
• Produce technical reports, execution logs, and user documentation.
• Collaborate with human analysts to adjust thresholds, operational rules, and parameters.
• Structure modular, reusable components for future integration with QGIS, PostGIS, and enterprise pipelines.
• Optimize I/O and parallel/GPU processing for large image batches.
• Maintain code versioning and software development best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Geoprocessing, Cartography, Geography, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Solid experience in Python development applied to geoprocessing and image/raster processing.
• Proficiency with Python libraries for raster data and remote sensing, such as GDAL, Rasterio, NumPy, and OpenCV, or equivalent tools.
• Practical experience processing satellite, aerial, or orthophotographic imagery, including TIF/GeoTIFF file handling.
• Knowledge of statistics applied to image analysis, including histograms, outlier detection, and radiometric quality indicators.
• Experience with segmentation/computer vision models, such as SAM (Segment Anything Model) or GeoSAM, or a demonstrated willingness to work with this type of model.
• Experience with batch processing and controlled parallelism for large data volumes.
• Knowledge of QGIS and PostGIS for consuming and validating geospatial data.
• Ability to structure code for testing, logging, and traceability.
• Experience with version control using Git.
• Autonomy to drive incremental development, define technical acceptance criteria, and validate results with stakeholders.
• Nice to have: experience with 360° panoramic imagery, cloud detection/masking, GeoSAM/SAM, CUDA, COG, XYZ/TMS, CI/CD, radiometric calibration, large raster datasets, certifications or courses in computer vision, deep learning, or remote sensing, and technical English.
