We are seeking a Backend Software Engineer with Golang experience. This remote position involves managing various backend platform areas, including API integrations with third-party vendors and partners.

As a Backend Engineer with our User Tribe, you will help make it easier for users to access Rain and develop products that promote positive cash flow. You will collaborate with international teams to manage a digital wallet that supports seamless account creation and employer linking.

The ideal candidate is excited about tackling technical challenges and contributing to strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

1. Translate product requirements into robust technical solutions, recommend approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet goals.
2. Design and implement reliable systems within a distributed microservices architecture.
3. Build and maintain integrations with third-party vendors and partners.
4. Design and implement highly available RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications.
5. Create reusable code and libraries to promote collaboration and scalability.
6. Enforce observability best practices using logging, metrics, and alerting systems.
7. Create and maintain detailed technical documentation.
8. Monitor systems for performance and scalability improvements.
9. Foster effective cross-team communication and collaboration throughout the software development lifecycle.

Skills and Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Proficiency in back-end languages such as Go/Golang, Java, Python, C++.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs.
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, including data modeling and optimization.
• Experience building reliable, scalable applications and microservices.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), serverless, Docker, Kubernetes, ECS.
• Strong ownership and proactive problem-solving skills.
• Experience with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
• Proficiency with message queuing systems like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Flink.
• Release management experience with CI/CD tools such as Gitlab CI or Github Actions.
