Jobtailor seeks a senior Manager to lead a team of materials science specialists, directing R&D in packaging materials and ensuring regulatory compliance. The role demands strategic portfolio leadership, hands-on testing oversight, and cross‑functional collaboration in a hybrid lab environment.

The candidate will steer budgets, oversee timelines, and drive innovation while ensuring GMP, RDC 48 and ISO 22716 adherence across projects, with two to three days on-site weekly.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related fields.
• Proven experience in materials R&D and direct experience in the packaging domain.
• Strong expertise in materials science, polymers and composite materials.
• Ability to manage conflicts and navigate organizational interfaces.
• Mandatory availability to work in a hybrid model at the laboratory, two to three times per week.
• Postgraduate qualification, specialization, Master's or PhD in relevant areas is a plus but not mandatory
• Prior experience leading people and managing projects.
• Knowledge and application of chemical and mechanical testing.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements: GMP, RDC 48 and ISO 22716

Responsabilidades

• Lead a team of materials science specialists to deliver R&D projects aligned with strategic goals.
• Manage the laboratory budget (CAPEX and OPEX) and allocate resources to accelerate the innovation portfolio.
• Direct the polymer materials research portfolio, prioritizing studies, tests and resources.
• Provide technical and analytical oversight of the team's scientific work, reviewing test results for accuracy.
• Ensure performance, safety and feasibility of new materials for packaging and accessories, meeting regulatory requirements.
• Facilitate cross-functional communication with Marketing, Quality, Manufacturing and Development teams.
• Ensure laboratory compliance with SGI policies, GMP, RDC 48 and ISO 22716

• Manage the laboratory budget (CAPEX and OPEX), allocating financial and technical resources to enable and accelerate the innovation portfolio
• Direct the polymer materials research portfolio, prioritizing studies, tests and resources
• Provide technical and analytical oversight of the team's scientific work, reviewing methodological rigor and the accuracy of chemical and mechanical test results
• Ensure the performance, safety and feasibility of new materials for packaging and accessories, meeting technical and quality requirements
• Facilitate communication and build strategic alliances with Marketing, Quality, Manufacturing and Development teams, managing conflicts and participating in decision-making forums
• Ensure operational excellence and regulatory compliance of the laboratory, meeting SGI (Integrated Management System) policies, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), RDC 48 and ISO 22716
