EPAM Systems in Brazil seeks an experienced Lead SAP CAP Developer to strengthen our engineering team. You will design and implement scalable cloud-based applications and guide development across cross-functional teams.

Our organization is seeking an experienced Lead SAP CAP Developer to strengthen our engineering team. Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and launch cloud-based applications that scale effectively, applying contemporary development frameworks and toolsets
• Construct microservice components and event-driven architectures designed to handle demanding, large-scale enterprise workloads with strong reliability
• Utilize in-memory data storage solutions to achieve exceptionally fast processing speeds within applications
• Participate in forward-thinking initiatives that embed artificial intelligence into development workflows to boost overall productivity and output quality
• Operate in a team setting guided by Agile principles, applying DevOps methods to accelerate release cycles and foster cross-functional teamwork

Requirements

• At least 5 years of practical, hands‑on background in developing software solutions
• A minimum of one year guiding and overseeing development teams in a leadership capacity
• Demonstrated track record of shipping features punctually while meeting functional requirements, SAP quality benchmarks, and established project timelines
• Solid command of backend technologies including Java, REST/CXF, Spring Boot and other MVC-based frameworks, the CAP development model, and SQL
• Involvement in reviewing requirements documentation, authoring and evaluating design specs, assessing test scenarios, and conducting code reviews
• Capability to build automated unit testing suites that reach complete code coverage
• Background in creating fully automated functional test plans that validate both expected and edge‑case scenarios
• Skill in diagnosing and resolving both internal software issues and client-reported problems within agreed‑upon SLA windows
• Working knowledge of platforms like Confluence, GitHub, Jenkins, JIRA, Junit, Karate, Postman, Qmate, qTest, and Selenium to support coding, quality assurance, and task management
• Strong command of English, both written and spoken, at a B2 proficiency level or above

Nice to have

• Hands‑on exposure to leading cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is considered highly advantageous
• Knowledge of designing systems around microservices and event‑based communication patterns is a valuable asset
• Prior work with additional SAP solutions beyond CAP adds extra value to your candidacy
• Familiarity with Agile ways of working alongside hands‑on DevOps experience, such as building CI/CD pipelines and automating processes, is beneficial
• A genuine curiosity about applying AI technologies within development processes will set you apart from other candidates
