Fortidia is looking for a Junior Financial Controller for its headquarters in Milan. The role involves supporting monthly Group financial reporting and managing financial performance in collaboration with IT and Finance departments.

You will also assist in budgeting and forecasting cycles, work closely with international teams, and gain exposure to senior stakeholders. A hybrid working policy and various training opportunities are included.

Junior Financial Controller

About the Role

Fortidia is seeking a Junior Financial Controller to join its Group Finance Department at the Milan headquarters, reporting directly to the Global VP Finance. The role will support monthly Group reporting, with a focus on the management-account view of the Group P&L, data accuracy, and first-level variance analysis. It will also monitor the financial and economic performance of the Technology division in collaboration with IT leaders and Finance & Accounting teams at headquarters and across local entities. Over time, the position will expand into Global Controlling and Planning activities, supporting forecasting and budgeting cycles.

Key Responsibilities

• Update management dashboards and monthly Group reporting.
• Monitor Technology division financial KPIs and develop additional measures to improve management visibility.
• Compare actual costs and revenues with Budget and Forecast, investigating and explaining significant variances, anomalies, and unexpected trends.
• Support month-end closing with the Accounting team, including the accounting treatment of IT costs, accruals, prepayments, and capitalization.
• Support annual OPEX and CAPEX budgeting and periodic forecasting for Group Technology products.
• Assist the VP IT with IT cost allocation and intercompany recharge processes across Group legal entities.
• Help ensure that allocation and recharge models are fair, consistent, and transparent.
• Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, IT, management, headquarters, and international offices.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Management Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 1–2 years of experience in Controlling, Management Control, Reporting, or Financial Analysis.
• Fluent English, with the ability to participate in international calls and work with overseas offices.
• Advanced Microsoft Office knowledge, particularly Excel, including advanced formulas, Pivot Tables, and large data sets.
• Familiarity with major ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or equivalent platforms.
• Experience with collaborative spreadsheets and Google Workspace.
• Strong analytical ability, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Proactive, hands‑on, and adaptable approach.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, problem‑solving, and deadline‑management skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with Finance, IT, and management stakeholders from different backgrounds.
• Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic and changing environment.
• Collaborative attitude and openness to diverse perspectives.
• Curiosity and willingness to explore new ideas and improve existing solutions.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in IT Controlling.
• Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Experience with Corporate Performance Management software such as Tagetik, Hyperion, or Anaplan.
• Previous experience in a structured multinational environment.
