Your role and responsibilities

As an Application Consultant at IBM, you will help guide clients into a new era of innovative technology. Your tasks will include assisting clients in selecting, implementing, and supporting applications, methodologies, and tools. You will be trained to become an expert in existing and/or new applications related to Cloud, Blockchain, DevOps, Enterprise Applications, and Mobile technologies. Your role will involve helping clients integrate enterprise-wide data to enhance performance and efficiency. With a growth mindset, you will be prepared and eager to deliver business value wherever needed. Your responsibilities may include:

• Working with project teams to advise clients on enterprise-wide data integrations
• Developing methods to improve analytics support for better business decision-making
• Collaborating with client personnel and IBM teams to identify functional requirements, and in some cases leading efforts in designing solutions
• Participating in various design activities, from requirements analysis to systems, application, and process design, as well as implementation
• Gaining knowledge across multiple platforms, processes, or architectures

Required technical and professional expertise

• Monitoring, analyzing, and responding to critical IT incidents to ensure rapid resolution
• Coordinating technical teams and stakeholders during incident resolution
• Documenting incidents according to ITSM processes and conducting post-mortems with corrective actions
• Implementing improvements to incident response workflows
• Experience with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow, BMC Remedy, or Jira Service Management
• Knowledge of incident monitoring and diagnosis tools like Splunk, Prometheus, and Datadog
• Understanding of networks, operating systems, and distributed applications
• Familiarity with incident response methodologies such as SRE Incident Response and ITIL
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Clear, objective communication, especially under pressure
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and coordinate multiple stakeholders
