This role involves working in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we provide deep technical and industry expertise to a broad range of public and private sector clients globally. Our centers offer locally based skills and technical expertise to foster innovation and facilitate the adoption of new technologies.

Your role and responsibilities

As an Application Consultant at IBM, you will help clients transition into a future-oriented technological landscape. Your responsibilities include assisting clients with the selection, implementation, and support of applications, methodologies, and tools. You will be trained to become an expert in existing and/or new applications, focusing on areas like Cloud, Blockchain, DevOps, Enterprise Applications, and Mobile. Your role involves helping clients integrate enterprise-wide data to enhance performance and efficiency. With a growth mindset, you are prepared and eager to deliver business value wherever required. Your specific responsibilities may include:

1. Collaborating with project teams to advise on enterprise-wide data integrations.
2. Developing methods to improve analytics and support better business decision-making.
3. Working as part of a team with client personnel and other IBM teams to identify functional requirements, and leading efforts in designing client solutions where appropriate.
4. Participating in various design activities, from requirements analysis to system, application, and process design, through to implementation.
5. Gaining knowledge across multiple platforms, processes, or architectures.

Required technical and professional expertise

- Monitoring, analyzing, and responding to critical IT incidents to ensure rapid resolution.

- Coordinating technical teams and stakeholders during incident resolution.

- Documenting and categorizing incidents per ITSM processes.

- Conducting post-mortems and recommending corrective actions.

- Improving incident response workflows.

- Experience with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow, BMC Remedy, or Jira Service Management.

- Knowledge of incident monitoring and diagnosis tools like Splunk, Prometheus, or Datadog.

- Understanding of networks, operating systems, and distributed applications.

- Familiarity with incident response methodologies such as SRE Incident Response and ITIL.

- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

- Clear, objective communication, especially under pressure.

- Ability to work collaboratively and coordinate among multiple stakeholders.
