Job summary

VAM Systems is seeking an On-Premises Exchange & Infrastructure Administrator for its Bahrain operations. The role focuses on managing Exchange Servers (2016/2019/SE), AD, and core Windows infrastructure across physical and virtual environments.

Candidate will implement high-availability configurations (DAGs/WSFC), oversee virtualization (VMware vSphere, Hyper-V), and automate tasks via PowerShell to ensure secure, reliable mail delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years managing Windows Server and Active Directory in an enterprise.
• Proven Exchange experience with 2016/2019 or Subscription Edition (SE).
• Hands-on virtualization with VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V.
• Strong SMTP/DNS knowledge including DKIM/DMARC setups.
• PowerShell scripting for automation and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Install, update, and manage on-premises Exchange Servers (2016/2019) and SE across physical and virtual systems.
• Configure multi-site DAGs and WSFC for high availability of Exchange services.
• Deploy and maintain VM resources across VMware vSphere and Hyper-V environments.
• Maintain Active Directory structures, mailboxes, groups, permissions, and schemas.
• Plan patches and updates; migrate legacy systems toward Exchange SE.
• Create PowerShell scripts for automated administration and reporting.

VAM Systems is currently looking for On-Premises Exchange & Infrastructure Administrator for our Bahrain operations with the following skillsets & terms and conditions:

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of dedicated professional experience managing Windows Server and Active Directory environments within an enterprise setting.
• Exchange Expertise: Proven track record with bare-metal and clustered engineering for Exchange 2016, 2019, or Subscription Edition (SE).
• Virtualization Mastery: Hands-on administrative competency inside production VMware vSphere and Hyper-V compute topologies.
• Network Foundations: Firm grasp of SMTP routing, DNS infrastructure (MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC architectures), and on-premises mail gateway security.
• Automation Capabilities: Strong programmatic capability utilizing PowerShell to automate complex messaging administrative flows.

Key Responsibilities

• Exchange & Infrastructure Management: Install, update, and manage standalone and clustered on-premises Microsoft Exchange Servers (2016/2019) and SE across physical and virtual systems.
• High Availability & Clustering: Configure, test, and optimize multi-site Database Availability Groups (DAGs) and Windows Server Failover Clustering (WSFC) to ensure uninterrupted email communication.
• Hypervisor Administration: Deploy, provision, and maintain virtual machine resources across both VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V environments supporting core enterprise services.
• Directory Integration: Maintain Active Directory structures, manage user mailboxes, distribution groups, security permissions, and schema updates tailored for Exchange implementations.
• Lifecycle Management: Plan and execute patches, hotfixes, Cumulative Updates (CUs), and Security Updates (SUs) alongside migrating legacy infrastructures toward Exchange Server SE platforms.
• Backup & Disaster Recovery: Formulate, validate, and execute bare-metal restoration workflows, mailbox database consistency checks, and transaction log truncation policies.
• Performance Monitoring & Automation: Create advanced PowerShell scripts for programmatic administration, bulk provisioning, monitoring, and automated response reporting.
