Job summary

Generac Power Systems Inc. in Bahrain is seeking a Purchasing Officer to support the Supply Chain Supervisor by turning approved purchase requests into purchase orders and guiding them through to delivery and PO closure.

You will participate in sourcing and supplier onboarding, manage supplier records in ERP, track deliveries, and collaborate with Finance, Logistics, and other departments. This role requires a degree in a related field, 2–4 years of purchasing experience, and fluency in English

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of purchasing experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Hands-on ERP purchasing experience.
• Strong Excel and numerical skills.
• Working knowledge of Incoterms, RFQ and quotation comparison process, and basic negotiation.
• Fluent in English and Arabic, spoken and written.

Responsibilities

• Purchasing (Purchase Request to PO Closure): Receive purchase requests, ensure complete/approved, create POs in ERP, route for approval.
• Send approved POs to suppliers and obtain confirmation of price, quantity, delivery date and terms.
• Follow up with suppliers and internal stakeholders until delivery and close PO in ERP; coordinate inbound shipments with Logistics.
• Resolve delivery issues (shortages, damaged goods, price/quantity differences) with supplier and receiving team.
• Follow up with Finance on supplier invoices and payments to ensure timely payment and PO closure in ERP.
• Sourcing Support: Prepare RFQ requests, collect and compare quotations, and recommend suppliers for raw materials, components, services, tools, and facilities.
• Support development of local suppliers and purchasing from component manufacturers, including NDAs and supplier documents.
• Track supplier prices, lead times and delivery performance; keep supplier records up to date.
• Final selection of direct material suppliers follows established procedures.
• Supplier Management: Onboard new suppliers with required documents and Code of Conduct; create supplier accounts in ERP after approvals.
• Maintain supplier master data and verify changes to bank details with Finance.
• Prepare and follow up on supplier credit application forms.
• Reporting, Records and Compliance: Maintain complete PO files in line with ISO 9001; prepare monthly purchasing reports.
• Comply with Schedule of Authority and procurement policies; declare conflicts of interest.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Quality, Logistics, Finance and Sales.
• Backup Responsibility: Cover Sales Department order coordinator during leave.
