Job summary

Pramac, a Generac Company, seeks a Purchasing Officer to support Bahrain factory sourcing and purchasing. You will convert approved requests into POs, manage supplier communications, and drive supplier onboarding and cost-saving initiatives.

Based in Bahrain, you will collaborate with multiple internal functions to ensure timely deliveries and compliant procurement processes in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
• 2-4 years of purchasing experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Hands-on purchasing experience in an ERP system.
• Strong Excel and numerical skills.
• Working knowledge of Incoterms, RFQ and quotation comparison processes, and basic negotiation.
• Fluent in English and Arabic, spoken and written, to work with local and international suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Receive purchase requests from Production, Service, Engineering and other departments and verify they are complete and approved.
• Create purchase orders in the ERP system, including raw material POs for production, and route them for approval.
• Send approved POs to suppliers and obtain confirmations on price, quantity, delivery date and terms.
• Follow up with suppliers and internal stakeholders until delivery and coordinate inbound shipments with Logistics.
• Resolve delivery issues such as shortages, partial deliveries, damage, and price/quantity differences.
• Follow up with Finance on supplier invoices and payments and close POs in the ERP system.
• Support sourcing by preparing RFQs, collecting/ comparing quotations, and recommending suppliers for materials and services.
• Develop local supplier networks and onboarding with NDAs and supplier documentation.
• Track supplier prices, lead times and delivery performance, maintaining records.
• Assist supplier selection and onboarding per formal procedures and schedules.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Quality, Logistics, Finance and Sales to support business objectives.
