Job summary

Sheraton Bahrain is seeking an experienced cook to prepare special meals, regulate oven temperatures, thaw frozen items, and ensure proper portions and presentation.

You will assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, and coaching staff, follow safety policies, protect assets, and communicate menu specials to service staff. This role requires hands-on kitchen work in a hotel environment with a focus on quality and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Education: Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree.
• Related Work Experience: At least 3 years of related work experience.
• Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience.
• License or Certification: None

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals or substitute items; regulate oven temperatures; thaw items from freezer; ensure proper portions and garnish.
• Maintain food logs and monitor quality and quantity of prepared food.
• Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating employees.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures; report maintenance issues and safety concerns.
• Inform staff of menu specials and out-of-stock items; communicate guest needs during service.
• Stand, walk, and perform duties for extended periods; handle lifting and movement as required.
