Knauf Insulation Ltd. is seeking a Utilities & piping engineering manager to lead utilities & piping design and procurement for large capital projects.

You will oversee engineering, design, procurement, and construction interfaces with KI project teams and contractors, maintaining safety, budget, and schedule. The role requires 5–10 years of experience in large capital projects, proficiency with AutoCAD/Navisworks, strong leadership, and willingness to travel up to 30%.

Qualifications

• An academic degree in mechanical or process engineering.
• 5–10 years of experience in engineering and/or project management of large capital projects (€10-50M).
• Experience with AutoCAD and Navisworks.
• Excellent command of MS Project and MS Office.
• Great people management skills with multidisciplinary teams.
• Outstanding negotiation skills in contracts.
• Good communication and presentation skills.
• Scheduling and planning experience.
• Ability to actively resolve conflicts.
• Proficiency in English (verbal and written); additional languages are a plus.
• Capacity to travel up to 30%.

• Organizes design documentation archives including numbering and revisions.
• Ensures engineering design integrity across project areas and correct application of contract requirements, KI specs and procedures.
• Leads technical meetings such as PIDs, design reviews, and underground systems.

The expansion of the EngineeringDepartment means we are now looking to recruit newUtilities & piping engineering managerand reporting to the Project Manager Lead.

• Are you familiar with piping designfor natural gas, for water, for compress air as well as for firer water piping ?

AsUtilities & piping engineering manager, you'd be managing all utilities & piping aspects of the project at both design level with the design team, and at project level with the project execution team. You would beresponsible for overseeing the utilities & piping Engineering, Design and Procurement (incl. underground infrastructures). You Will following-up contracts during construction worksand commissioning phases until final acceptance.

What you’ll be doing:

• Accountable for successful and safe utilities & piping works delivery in terms of budget, schedule and quality.
  

• Closely collaborates with the Project Manager in providing overall project.
  

• Manages the interface between the design, procurement and construction teams.
  

• Identifies key project risks and appropriate mitigation strategies. Communicates progress and key issues with KI management.
  

• Organizes and leads meetings, to be conducted weekly, amongst project management from KI and utilities & piping contractors.

• Organizes appropriate design documentation archive, including numbering, revisions, etc.

• Ensure the Engineering design integrity in each Project area, ensuring the correct application of Contract requirements, KI technical specifications and corporate and Project procedures.

• Leads technical meetings such as PIDs, design, underground systems review.

• Facilitates and expedites the Technical Clarifications and Waivers regarding utilities & piping engineering matters.

• Project safety leader, contributing actively for the project HSE performance

• Helps establish the project procurement strategy for each packages andtakes a lead role in the management of the procurement process

• Responsible to deliver the project to the agreed schedule with the stakeholders

• Drives a risk-based process to identify where potential quality issues may arise either due to complex scope or skill gaps with the project team. Raises and addresses these issues early in the project and develops appropriate mitigation measures

What we’d love for you to have:

We're looking for someone who is has

• An academic degree in major studies in mechanical, or process engineering

• 5 to 10 years of experienced in the engineering and/or project management of large Capital Investment Projects (€10-50Mios).

• Experience with tools such as AutoCAD and Naviswork
  

• Excellent command of MS project andMS office - ability to produce reports

• Great people management skills – interaction with a multidisciplinary team

• Outstanding negotiation skills – experience in negotiating contracts

• Good communication and presentation skills

• Scheduling and planning experience

• Ability to actively resolve conflicts

• Proficiency in English language (verbally & written), additional language is an advantage

• The capacity to travel up to 30% of the time
