Imec invites a Thin Film Deposition Expert to join the Materials & Interfaces, Deposition & Analysis group in Leuven, Belgium. You will design and optimise ALD/CVD deposition for scaled contacts and work with cross‑functional teams to ensure compatibility with advanced devices.

With a PhD in a related field and strong hands-on experience in R&D deposition, you will drive process development, materials characterization, and collaboration across partners and epitaxy experts to advance

Qualifications

• PhD in Materials Science, Chemistry or Physics
• Strong expertise in thin film deposition: ALD and CVD
• Understanding links between process, materials, and characterisation
• Experience in process development in R&D or advanced manufacturing
• Ability to address chemistry-driven challenges using advanced characterisation

Responsabilités

• Lead optimization of thin film contact deposition processes, with emphasis on ALD and CVD
• Tune processes using deep understanding of chemistry, reaction mechanisms and materials behaviours
• Deliver service lots and manage partner-driven requests with quality and timeliness
• Support execution and improvement of CTLM lots and flows within learning programmes
• Coordinate intensive materials characterization and integrate literature surveys into process improvements
• Bridge chemistry, deposition and characterization across stakeholders and collaborate on PVD, ALD and CVD activities
