Job description

Theoretical Modelling of masing in Diamond and SiC

Master internship, Bachelor internship - Leuven | About a week ago

1. Simulate collective spin-cavity coupling using Lindblad master equations

Continuous-wavesolid-state MASERs utilizing diamond Nitrogen-Vacancy (NV) centers has beendemonstrated towards ultra-low-noise microwave amplification at roomtemperature [1][2]. This internship focuses on creating predictive mathematicalmodels to optimize the coupling between the NV spin ensemble and high-Qmicrowave cavities. The student will bridge core quantum optics theory andmicrowave engineering to study the physical masing threshold in diamond/SiCplatforms.

Type of internship: Master internship, Bachelor internship

Duration: 6-12 months

Required educational background: Physics, Computer Science, Chemistry/Chemical Engineering
