Huxley is seeking a Telephony Technical Lead & Systems Engineer (Senior) in Brussels. This hybrid role requires on-site presence a minimum of 3 days and involves leading telephony infrastructure design and operation within a major Belgian organization.

The candidate will drive architectural decisions, coordinate with security and engineering teams, and ensure performance, security, and reliability across enterprise telephony platforms. English plus French or Dutch is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of experience with IP Telephony solutions.
• Proven experience as a Technical Lead within infrastructure or development projects.
• Strong background in Solution Design.
• Recent involvement in IP Telephony projects within the last 2 years.
• Extensive knowledge of SIP and VoIP technologies, enterprise telephony platforms, routing, switching, and IP networking.
• Experience leading and coordinating technical teams.
• Fluent English and either French or Dutch.

About the Opportunity

Our client, a major organization operating critical infrastructure and utility services in Belgium, is seeking an experienced Telephony Technical Lead & Systems Engineer to join its Infrastructure & Operations team.

You will act as the technical expert for IP telephony solutions, supporting both strategic transformation projects and day-to-day operational activities. The role combines technical leadership, solution design, infrastructure expertise, and operational support within a complex enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

Project & Transformation Activities

• Design and define telephony infrastructure solutions in collaboration with architects, engineers, and security teams.
• Lead technical decision-making for telephony-related projects.

• Ensure solutions meet requirements for scalability, resilience, security, and performance.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 7 years of experience with IP Telephony solutions.
• Proven experience as a Technical Lead within infrastructure or development projects.
• Strong background in Solution Design.
• Recent involvement in IP Telephony projects within the last 2 years.
• Extensive knowledge of:
  • SIP and VoIP technologies
  • Enterprise telephony platforms
  • Routing, switching, and IP networking
  • Firewall management
  • Infrastructure architecture and design
• Experience leading and coordinating technical teams.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
• Fluent communication skills in English and either French or Dutch.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience within the Utilities, Energy, or Critical Infrastructure sector.
• Knowledge of Check Point firewalls.
• Experience with Mitel / MiCollab environments.
• Experience with Solidus solutions.
• Experience with voice recording platforms.
• Development, testing, and debugging experience.
