Imec, a leading research center in Leuven, Belgium, invites applications for a recognised researcher focused on system-level power, thermal and energy-efficiency modelling for future heterogeneous computing systems. You will develop modelling frameworks, study cross-layer interactions, and contribute to DTCO/STCO studies while collaborating with device, circuit, and architectural researchers.

You will present findings to industrial partners and contribute to publications, shaping the methodology

Qualifications

• PhD required in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Experience with power, thermal, or energy-efficiency modelling.
• Solid understanding of computer architecture and heterogeneous computing systems.
• Experience developing simulation frameworks and research software.
• Proficiency in scientific programming and data analysis.

Responsabilités

• Develop system-level power, thermal and energy-efficiency models for future heterogeneous computing systems.
• Create modelling frameworks that capture power and thermal interactions across multiple levels of abstraction.
• Study how architectural decisions, workload characteristics, packaging, cooling, and integration affect energy efficiency and performance.
• Develop simulation flows, analysis methodologies and predictive models for DTCO/STCO studies.
• Collaborate with device, circuit, architecture and physical design researchers and contribute to publications and strategic research directions.
