Job summary

ALTEN Belgium seeks a System Designer to join our Charleroi teams on client projects. You will define and allocate requirements across subsystems and collaborate with system, architecture, and software teams to deliver safe, efficient solutions.

You will analyze changes, propose optimizations, support disciplines from software to safety, and help ensure interfaces compatibility. A master’s degree and 3+ years in complex system design, plus strong English (French a plus), are required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Engineering in relevant fields.
• 3+ years of experience in complex system design or engineering projects.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in a highly technical environment.
• Knowledge of requirements management and traceability.
• IT proficiency: real-time software on target systems (Linux, Windows).
• English at least B2; French is a plus.

The Position

As part of our ongoing growth, we are looking for a System Designer to join our teams and work on client projects located in Charleroi.

As a System Designer, your main responsibilities will include:

• Define and allocate requirements to subsystems in collaboration with system, architecture, and software teams to ensure safe and efficient solutions.
• Analyze the impact of changes on existing systems and propose optimized solutions.
• Contribute to pre-integration strategies and ensure compatibility of elements and interfaces across all subsystems.
• Support project disciplines (software engineering, verification & validation, safety, certification) and assist in resolving technical issues.

Your Profile :

• Master’s degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Electronics, Automation, Robotics, or Computer Science).
• 3+ years of experience in complex system design or engineering projects.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a highly technical environment.
• Knowledge of requirement management and traceability.
• IT proficiency: ability to understand and configure real-time software on target systems (mainly Linux, some Windows).
• Languages: English B2 or higher; French is a plus.
