Job summary

ALTEN Belgium is seeking a Methods Engineer to join our teams in Liège. You will develop and optimize high-precision machining processes, write CNC programs for turning and milling, and industrialize new mechanical components to improve manufacturing efficiency.

You will analyze machining issues, create CAM documentation, select tooling, and support production with technical expertise, contributing to automation and continuous improvement projects.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience (incl. apprenticeships, work-study, internships).
• Experience in CNC programming for turning and/or milling operations.
• Hands-on experience launching and validating programs on production machines.
• Knowledge of ISO G-code programming.
• Experience with CAM software such as CATIA V5 or Siemens NX.
• Good understanding of machining processes for titanium, nickel alloys and stainless steel.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T.

The Position

As part of our ongoing growth, we are looking for a Methods Engineer to join our teams and work on client projects located in Liège. You will contribute to the development and optimization of high-precision manufacturing processes. This role offers the opportunity to work on challenging machining projects, support production activities, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

As a Methods Engineer, your main responsibilities will include:

• Write and optimize CNC programs for turning and milling operations
• Industrialize new mechanical components and define manufacturing processes
• Select tooling and establish machining parameters
• Analyze and resolve machining issues such as vibrations, dimensional deviations, and tool wear
• Create and maintain CAM documentation and machining process sheets
• Support production teams with technical expertise
• Contribute to automation and continuous improvement projects

Your profile

• You hold a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field
• You have minimum 3 years of experience (including apprenticeships, work-study programs and internships)
• You have experience in CNC programming for turning and/or milling operations
• Hands-on experience launching and validating programs on production machines
• You have experience in an industrialization or manufacturing environment
• You have a good knowledge of ISO G-code programming
• You have experience with CAM software such as CATIA V5 or Siemens NX
• Good understanding of machining processes for titanium, nickel alloys and stainless steel
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T specifications
• Fluent in French and English (C1 level)
