Jobgether is partnering with a Belgium‑based team to hire a Staff Platform Engineer. This role shapes infrastructure and developer experience at scale, leading platform initiatives and working across distributed teams to improve reliability and speed.

The role emphasizes AWS production cloud, Terraform/Terragrunt, observability with Datadog, and building self‑service tooling to support AI‑driven software development workflows.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience as Staff Engineer or equivalent, leading cross‑functional initiatives.
• Influences architectural decisions and engineering standards across teams.
• Designs and operates production cloud infrastructure on AWS (ECS/Fargate, RDS).
• Strong IaC experience with Terraform/Terragrunt and containerization.
• Proven CI/CD improvements, testing infra, and deployment automation.
• Developer platform mindset with self‑service tooling and scalable environments.
• Experience enabling AI‑driven development workflows and automation.
• Observability expertise using Datadog or similar tooling.
• Excellent communication and ownership‑driven collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead major platform engineering initiatives from design to continuous improvement.
• Improve developer productivity by stabilizing CI and deployment pipelines.
• Drive architectural decisions and platform‑wide solutions across teams.
• Own cloud infra, CI/CD, development environments, and observability tooling.
• Build self‑service tooling and abstractions to reduce engineer friction for AI workflows.
• Optimize testing infrastructure and deployment workflows for speed and reliability.
• Enhance production reliability with monitoring and incident practices.
• Collaborate with distributed Platform and Engineering teams across time zones.
• Mentor peers and promote ownership, automation, and technical standards.
