EMW is seeking a Database Administrator to manage on-prem and cloud databases in a NATO SECRET environment. The role involves installing, configuring, upgrading, and backing up SQL Server instances, plus architecture for HA/DR and migrations to Azure.

You will automate operations, ensure data governance, and collaborate with cloud and app teams to maintain reliability. Applicants should have strong T-SQL/Powershell skills, experience with PostgreSQL/MySQL, and IaC/CI/CD practices.

Qualifications

• Active NATO SECRET clearance is mandatory.
• Expert level SQL Server administration, tuning, and optimization.
• Experience in HA/DR solutions (Always On, Failover Clustering, Replication).
• Cloud databases across Azure; strong cloud deployment experience.
• Experience with open-source databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB).
• MongoDB experience preferred.
• Automation via PowerShell, T-SQL, Python scripting.
• IaC, CI/CD, and database deployment automation experience.
• Containerized/virtualized environments and observability tools.
• Data governance, security, encryption, auditing, andCompliance adherence.

Responsabilités

• Manage installation, configuration, upgrades, and backups of database systems on-premises and in the cloud.
• Design, develop, and maintain data collection, transformation, and integration processes.
• Monitor performance, availability, and capacity; proactively resolve issues.
• Develop automation tools, scripts, and workflows for DBA tasks and reporting.
• Produce reports and templates for configuration management and lifecycle tracking.
• Support migrations and modernization involving Azure and cloud services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure performance and scalability.
• Establish data governance and quality standards across systems.
• Stay current with technology roadmaps and security practices.
• Produce and maintain technical runbooks and architecture documentation.
