NATO is seeking a senior SQL Server DBA to own and safeguard databases, spanning on‑premises and cloud environments in a fully on‑site role in Belgium. You will install, tune, secure and maintain high‑availability databases, lead Azure migration, and drive automation and governance in a data‑driven environment.

The role requires expert SQL Server administration, deep HA/DR know‑how, cloud familiarity (Azure), and strong scripting in PowerShell, T‑SQL, and Python, with a focus on secure, reliable

Qualifications

• Expert-level SQL Server administration and troubleshooting.
• Strong HA/DR knowledge: Always On, failover clustering, replication.
• Experience migrating databases to Azure (Azure SQL DB/Managed Instance).
• Automation skills in PowerShell, T-SQL, Python; IaC/CI/CD for databases.
• Secure database practices: access control, encryption, auditing, vulnerability management.
• Fluent professional English.

Responsabilités

• Install, configure, upgrade, back up and harden SQL Server on‑premises and cloud.
• Engineer high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
• Lead migration and modernization into Azure.
• Automate administration, monitoring and reporting.
• Design data pipelines across SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL and MongoDB.
• Own performance, capacity and security, with root-cause analysis.
