Established in 2008, KOMIS is a Brussels-based management consulting company specialising in monitoring, evaluation and learning for international development. We work with international organisations, governments and other development actors to support the monitoring and evaluation of programmes and projects addressing complex social and economic challenges worldwide.

As KOMIS continues to grow, so does the importance of having digital tools that help our teams collaborate effectively, manage information securely and work more efficiently. We are therefore looking for a SharePoint / Microsoft 365 Specialist who can help us take the next step in the development of our Microsoft 365 environment.

You will have the opportunity to contribute directly to how KOMIS structures information, collaborates across teams and projects, and progressively automates internal processes.

JOB OVERVIEW

The SharePoint / Microsoft 365 Specialist will administer, improve and progressively develop KOMIS’s SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 environment.

You will work on our SharePoint intranet, Hub architecture, departmental Team Sites, document management, permissions and automation, while also supporting colleagues with existing SharePoint solutions.

The role combines hands-on technical work with business-process understanding. You will work closely with the allocated KOMIS Manager, Project Managers and users to translate operational needs into practical and maintainable Microsoft 365 solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

SharePoint & Microsoft 365

• Administer, maintain and improve KOMIS’s SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 environment.
• Support Project Managers and users with existing SharePoint sites and functionality.
• Configure and progressively develop the SharePoint Online intranet and Hub architecture.
• Create and maintain departmental SharePoint Team Sites connected to Microsoft Teams.
• Configure Hub navigation, Quick Links, News templates and aggregated news.
• Troubleshoot SharePoint and Microsoft 365 issues and implement practical solutions.

Information, documents & access

• Configure document libraries, metadata, views and information structures.
• Support restructuring and migration of content from existing SharePoint sites.
• Manage Microsoft Entra ID security groups, permissions and access controls, including library-level permissions.
• Help maintain clear, secure and manageable access structures across SharePoint.

Automation & business solutions

• Develop SharePoint Lists and, progressively, Power Automate workflows and Power Apps where useful.
• Identify opportunities to simplify or automate recurring business processes using Microsoft 365 tools.

Business support, testing & documentation

• Work with managers and users to understand business needs and translate them into practical Microsoft 365 solutions.
• Test new configurations and solutions before deployment.
• Document configurations, procedures and solutions and prepare user guidance where needed.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

We are looking for someone who combines solid Microsoft 365 knowledge with a practical and solution-oriented mindset.

You should have:

• At least 3 years of practical professional experience with SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365.
• Solid knowledge of SharePoint sites, document libraries, permissions, metadata, views and Hub Sites.
• Experience integrating SharePoint Online and Microsoft Teams.
• Good understanding of Microsoft Entra ID, security groups and access management.
• Practical experience with SharePoint Lists and Power Automate.
• Ability to understand business processes and translate them into Microsoft 365 solutions.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation and communication skills.
• Good written and spoken English.

NICE TO HAVE

Experience with any of the following would be an advantage: Microsoft Power Apps; Microsoft Graph; PowerShell or PnP PowerShell; SharePoint governance; SharePoint migration tools; Microsoft 365 security and compliance; Broader Microsoft Power Platform solutions.

You do not need to bring all of these from day one. We are particularly interested in candidates with a strong SharePoint/Microsoft 365 foundation, sound judgement and willingness to develop further.
