Job summary

Pauwels Consulting is seeking a Service Desk Engineer to join the IT operations team in a hybrid, on-site-capable setup in Belgium. The role covers end-to-end technical support for hardware and software, ensuring high service availability for all users.

You will handle first-line and second-line requests, manage Windows environments (Windows 11, Office 2016, SCCM), and maintain AD, DHCP, DNS, DFS, and Group Policies while contributing to CMDB accuracy. Travel to different sites is expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional ICT experience, with at least 4+ years in a dedicated service desk role.
• 3+ years of experience providing both first-line and second-line technical support.
• Experience with Windows desktop management including Windows 11, Office 2016, Windows Deployment Services, and SCCM.
• Knowledge of Windows Active Directory including user/computer management, DHCP, DNS, DFS, and Group Policies.
• Experience using service desk management tools such as Omnitracker and maintaining a CMDB.
• Valid driving licence B and willingness to travel to different sites.
• Customer-oriented, organized, and analytical approach to problem-solving.
• Native Dutch speaker.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line helpdesk support by logging, categorizing, and dispatching tickets with clear priorities.
• Install and manage desktop environments, PC hardware, and peripherals for end-users.
• Maintain IT inventory and manage stock levels for hardware components and accessories.
• Configure and distribute smartphones and mobile devices to organizational staff.
• Communicate effectively with internal clients and report progress to the service desk team lead.
