Job summary

MindWave is seeking a Senior UX Researcher to bring the user perspective to a portfolio of digital platforms. You will lead research from discovery to validation across customer portals, API platforms, and back-office tools, shaping journeys for energy-market stakeholders.

You will facilitate workshops with business and IT, analyze web analytics, and create personas and journey maps. Strong English, Dutch or French, and a Belgian work authorization are required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years applying Design Thinking in Agile environments.
• 3+ years in interaction design and information architecture.
• Formal UX qualification (Master's degree, cert, or equivalent).
• Advanced proficiency in Figma; experience with design systems is a plus.
• Proven track record facilitating workshops with cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication, storytelling, and synthesis skills.
• Good working proficiency in Dutch and/or French; fluent English; German is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end UX research (interviews, observations, usability tests, surveys) and centralize insights.
• Facilitate framing, ideation, and co-design workshops with stakeholders, IT squads, and users.
• Analyze quantitative user behavior with web analytics and heatmaps to uncover pain points.
• Build personas, empathy maps, experience maps, and end-to-end journeys.
• Define interaction models and measure success against usability KPIs.
• Design low-to-high fidelity wireframes, prototypes, user flows, and site maps; present solutions to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with UI designers to align with the design system and contribute to the UX chapter.

For a key player in the European energy transition, we are looking for a Senior UX Researcher to bring the user perspective into a portfolio of digital platforms-from initial discovery and research to interaction design and validation.

In this role, you will work across customer-facing portals, developer and API platforms, and internal back-office tools, creating seamless journeys for energy-market stakeholders and contributing to a sustainable, reliable energy landscape.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading end-to-end UX research (user interviews, contextual observations, usability tests, and surveys) and centralizing insights in a structured research repository
• Facilitating framing, ideation, and co-design workshops with business stakeholders, IT squads, and end users
• Analyzing quantitative user behavior using web analytics (such as Matomo) and heatmaps to uncover pain points and drop-offs
• Building and refining personas, empathy maps, experience maps, and end-to-end user journeys
• Defining interaction models and measuring product success against clear usability benchmarks and KPIs
• Designing low-to-high fidelity wireframes, interactive prototypes, user flows, and site maps, presenting solutions persuasively to stakeholders
• Collaborating closely with UI designers to ensure strict alignment with the design system while actively contributing to the wider UX chapter

Your Profile:

• 7+ years of experience applying Design Thinking methodologies in Agile environments, with mastery of both qualitative and quantitative research methods
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in interaction design and information architecture
• A formal qualification in UX (Master's degree, recognized professional certification, or equivalent practical background)
• Advanced proficiency in Figma (wireframes, prototypes, user flows; experience with design systems is a plus), alongside tools like Miro, PowerPoint, and Matomo (experience with Condens is a strong plus)
• Proven track record in facilitating collaborative workshops with cross-functional and large stakeholder groups
• Strong communication, storytelling, and synthesis skills, combined with a pragmatic, autonomous, and resilient delivery mindset
• Good working proficiency in Dutch and/or French, alongside fluent English; German is an asset
• Valid authorization to work in Belgium (EU citizen or valid Belgian work/residence permit)
