Job summary

Arcus Search is seeking an experienced Senior Scrum Master to drive a large-scale transformation in the financial services sector. You will lead up to two Scrum teams across local and offshore environments, ensuring effective Agile delivery and well-facilitated ceremonies.

You will partner with Product Owners, stakeholders and technical teams to coach Agile practices, manage backlogs, and guide change initiatives through the full project lifecycle, including governance and delivery across all

Qualifications

• Wholesale financial markets experience preferred.
• Leads two teams and manages hybrid or offshore delivery.
• Certified Scrum Master with proven delivery in Scrum.
• Strong mix of Agile and Waterfall delivery experience.
• Full lifecycle delivery from requirements to launch.
• Proven stakeholder and people leadership experience.
• PM certification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Define and coordinate Scrum ceremonies (planning, stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives).
• Partner with Product Owners to prioritize backlogs and support change.
• Coach teams and stakeholders on Agile practices and Scrum maturity.
• Lead hybrid and offshore delivery teams across activities.
• Define governance, scope, deliverables, and responsibilities.
• Oversee change initiatives across business, technical and financial aspects.

The Role

We are looking for an experiencedSenior Scrum Masterto join a large-scale transformation programme within the financial services sector. In this role, you will lead up to two Scrum teams, working across both local and offshore environments, while driving Agile delivery and ensuring Scrum ceremonies and planning activities are delivered effectively.Alongside your Scrum Master responsibilities, you will work closely with Product Owners, business stakeholders, and technical teams to manage delivery, coach teams on Agile best practices, and support complex change initiatives. Due to the nature of the role, experience managing traditional Waterfall projects and leading teams is also essential.

Responsibilities

• Define and coordinate Scrum roles, ceremonies, and activities, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Work with Product Owners to manage requests, prioritize backlogs, and support teams through change.
• Coach teams and stakeholders on Agile ways of working and improve Scrum maturity.
• Lead hybrid and offshore teams across delivery activities.
• Define project governance, scope, deliverables, and responsibilities across teams.
• Oversee business, technical, organizational, managerial, and financial aspects of change initiatives.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, sponsors, customers, and architects to assess requirements and feasibility.
• Support supplier and contract management when required.
• Manage project delivery across all phases, from requirements through launch.

Requirements

• Experience working in wholesale financial markets is required, ideally with knowledge of UK equities or bond settlement.
• Proven experience managing hybrid or offshore teams.
• Experience leading at least two teams.
• Certified Scrum Master with proven experience delivering change in a Scrum Master role.
• Strong experience delivering medium to large-scale projects using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
• Experience across the full project lifecycle: requirements, design, build, testing, acceptance, and launch.
• Experience with people management or direct team leadership.
• Project Management certification (PRINCE2 or PMI) is highly desirable.
• Ability to work effectively with senior and junior stakeholders in a matrix management environment.
