Job summary

ib vogt GmbH in Belgium seeks a SCADA Engineer to design, configure and commission SCADA systems for solar PV projects. You will ensure seamless integration with inverters, meters and weather stations, develop HMI dashboards, and support grid-compliance and cybersecurity requirements.

You will collaborate with suppliers, EPCs and O&M teams to document architectures, wiring diagrams and test procedures, while maintaining high standards for reliability and data quality across international

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Instrumentation, or a related field.
Master’s degree in Control Systems, Renewable Energy, or equivalent (preferred).
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in SCADA design, integration, and troubleshooting for renewable energy projects.
Experience with utility-scale solar PV plants, substations, or renewable energy control systems in Europe.
Strong knowledge of SCADA architecture, design and protocols (Modbus, DNP3, IEC 61850, OPC, TCP/IP).
Hands-on experience configuring and integrating SCADA platforms (WinCC, Wonderware, Schneider).
Familiarity with networks (fiber, Ethernet, wireless, VPNs).
PLC/RTU programming and configuration; understanding substation automation and grid communication.
Knowledge of cybersecurity standards for SCADA; HMI development experience.
Ability to read SLDs and electrical drawings; certifications in SCADA or cybersecurity are a plus.
English proficiency at least C1; additional European languages are advantageous.

Responsibilities

Design and specify SCADA systems for solar PV projects, ensuring compliance with requirements and standards.
Oversee integration of SCADA with inverters, weather stations and meters.
Develop and configure HMI and dashboards for real-time data visualization and reporting.
Ensure compliance with grid operator data exchange and grid control requirements.
Review and approve SCADA hardware/software specifications to support procurement.
Coordinate with suppliers/contractors for installation, commissioning and testing of SCADA.
Troubleshoot SCADA issues during construction, commissioning and operation.
Implement cybersecurity measures to protect SCADA systems from vulnerabilities.
Coordinate with O&M teams to ensure reliable long-term performance.
Prepare architectural diagrams, I/O lists and user manuals.
