Job summary

Jobgether in Belgium is partnering with a security-focused company to hire a Senior ML Engineer - Email Security for a remote-first role. You will develop and deploy transformer-based models to detect spam, phishing, and related threats in production email pipelines.

You will own the full ML lifecycle from data prep and model evaluation to production releases, prioritizing efficiency, scalability, and robust monitoring across thousands of hosting servers.

Responsibilities

• Train, evaluate, and release spam-detection models, including corpora and thresholds.
• Develop production components of a new email-filtering engine in Go.
• Investigate detection failures and implement fixes via rules or retraining.
• Balance detection rates with false positives to protect legitimate mail.
• Maintain corpus management tools and training infrastructure.
• Review classifier, rule, and model changes for quality and reliability.
• Explain model scoring behavior to partner engineers.
• Write technical specs, handbooks, and post-mortems to support collaboration.
• Deliver a rule-model release by month 6 and a component to staging by month 3.
