Jobgether in Belgium seeks an AI/ML Engineer to design, build, evaluate, deploy, and improve practical AI-powered applications for nonprofit organizations. You will work across healthcare, agriculture, education, and development, mentoring partner teams and contributing to open‑source tooling.

Ideal candidates combine strong ML fundamentals with hands-on production experience, including LLMs, agentic systems, and responsible AI practices. Fully remote role with technical ownership.

Formación

• Strong foundations in mathematics, deep learning, large language models (LLMs), and modern AI systems.
• At least 4 years of hands-on ML engineering delivering end-user AI products powered by DL; not just model APIs or ML infra.
• At least 1–2 years building LLM-powered apps, including at least one production-grade agent.
• Experience evaluating AI systems with data design, evaluation methodology, and performance metrics.
• Proficiency in Python and hands-on implementation.
• Fluency in prompting and context engineering for agentic systems.
• Experience using AI coding agents to produce high-quality work and validate outputs.
• Ability to read research papers, test ideas, and iterate through experiments.

Responsabilidades

• Design, build, evaluate, deploy, and improve ML systems and AI-powered apps for real-world use cases.
• Contribute to open-source AI evaluation infrastructure and tools for nonprofits.
• Collaborate with behavioral scientists, researchers, and field teams to translate findings into reusable tools and playbooks.
• Develop evaluation methods with datasets, criteria, and measurable performance improvements.
• Build production-grade LLM applications and agentic systems with reliability and maintainability.
• Release meaningful innovations as open-source contributions when appropriate.
• Deliver solutions through rapid development and data-informed iterations.
• Document decisions and maintain engineering standards across AI components.
