Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Senior ML Engineer - Malware Detection to work remotely from Belgium. You will design, train, and deploy ML systems to detect web-based malware across large Linux hosting environments, using real-world malware data and advanced models including transformers and LLM-assisted triage.

You will own the ML lifecycle from data to production, collaborating with analysts, infrastructure teams, and fellow ML engineers.

Qualifications

• At least five years of production ML experience in domains like cybersecurity or adversarial environments.
• Transformer models: training, fine-tuning, LoRA/QLoRA, distillation and quantization.
• Strong classical ML knowledge: gradient boosting, linear models, calibration, class imbalance.
• Rigorous evaluation with leakage-free splits and fixed FP constraints.
• Inference optimization for CPU/memory and cost considerations.
• Proficient Python, PyTorch and Hugging Face; SQL with analytical databases.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, evaluation and deployment of ML systems to improve malware detection at scale.
• Develop classifiers to distinguish malicious files and triage samples for detection engines.
• Build systems for automatic generation of detection signatures from campaigns.
• Create context-aware threat detection leveraging phishing pages and web components.
• Improve detection precision and cleanup effectiveness across hosting fleets.
• Establish evaluation frameworks and prevent data leakage before deployment.
