What you will do
You will develop a data architecture for data products that is sustainable, maintainable, clear, scalable and manageable, serving the different needs of data consumers. Your responsibilities include:
- Planning, designing and building data warehouse applications using tools such as Cognos or Datastage
- Data warehouse modelling and working with data modelling and semantics
- Defining data product architecture and architecture standards for long-term manageability and policy objectives
- Building data warehouse components including data integration (ETL), reporting and analysis (BI), databases and metadata
- Working with cloud-based data and integration technologies, workflow orchestration and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Implementing data lineage and impact analysis in data pipelines
- Working with federated query engines for accessing and querying data across different data sources (such as Starburst)
- Standardising through generic building blocks for reuse
- Designing modular and loosely coupled solutions, API and service-based integrations, and reusable services and building blocks
You will take a leading role in an Agile development environment.
What we are looking for
Essential experience and knowledge:
- At least 5 years of experience with data warehouse modelling
- At least 5 years of experience with data modelling and semantics
- At least 5 years of experience with data product architecture and defining architecture standards for long-term manageability and policy objectives
- Experience with project-oriented work and data warehouse modelling, or demonstrable training in data warehouse modelling
- Knowledge and experience with cloud-based data and integration technologies, workflow orchestration and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Knowledge and experience with data lineage and impact analysis in data pipelines
- Knowledge and experience with federated query engines for accessing and querying data across different data sources (such as Starburst)
- Knowledge and experience with planning, designing and building data warehouse applications using tools such as Cognos or Datastage
- Knowledge and experience with standardisation through generic building blocks for reuse
- Fluency in Dutch at CEFR level C2
Valuable additional experience:
- Knowledge and experience with data warehousing concepts, processes and architectures
- Knowledge and experience with building data warehouse components: data integration (ETL), reporting and analysis (BI), databases and metadata
- Knowledge and experience with data integration architecture, including designing modular and loosely coupled solutions, API and service-based integrations, clear integration principles and reusable services and building blocks
- Knowledge and experience with Agile development methodology, with the ability to take on a leading role
Nice to have:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect
- Data Management Body of Knowledge (DAMA-DMBOK) certificate
The setting
This role runs from October 2026 to the end of March 2027. The work is based in Brussels, with hybrid working possible. You will work full-time, with an estimated 960 hours over the assignment period. The working language is Dutch.
