HumanInTech is seeking an experienced SAP BI consultant to join a Dutch-speaking team in the Ghent region. You will work on BW/BW-on-HANA/BW4 and HANA reporting, Databricks data platforms, and Power BI across integrated data layers.

You will design data models, implement the full delivery cycle, and mentor peers while supporting operational BI platforms and change management. Flexible hybrid work with Belgian travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Essential experience across BW/BW-on-HANA/BW4 and Native HANA ecosystems.
• Extensive BI consulting background with SAP reporting tools.
• Experience with data analytics platforms and ETL processes.
• Hands-on Databricks and cloud reporting tooling experience.
• Proficiency in SAP Analytics Cloud and SAP Datasphere.
• Experience with SAP ISU and SAP HANA Studio.
• Strong SQL scripting capabilities.
• Fluent Dutch with business stakeholders

What you will do

You will join a self-organising Scrum data team working on data and information products for the network operations domain. The client operates a hybrid data landscape combining SAP-oriented platforms (BW/BW4 and HANA) with an Azure Databricks data platform and Power BI for reporting.

Your work covers the full delivery cycle:

• Conduct requirements analysis with information analysts and validate specifications with stakeholders
• Design data models in line with the organisation's BI standards
• Implement technical solutions in SAP BW/HANA and Microsoft Azure environments, from extraction to final reporting
• Build advanced analytics use cases and reports across integrated data layers
• Develop visualisations and reports in SAP BI reporting tools and Power BI
• Test your work according to predefined test plans and ensure monitoring and alerting are in place to meet service levels
• Maintain documentation and develop training materials
• Manage the lifecycle of existing environments, including updates and upgrades
• Assist the data team in resolving technical issues
• Provide functional support and training to business users in the network operations domain
• Propose improvements within the data and BI framework
• Think ahead about the future of BI and guide the organisation through upcoming changes

You will also support operational platform management:

• Execute and monitor daily "keep it running" activities
• Handle incident and problem management
• Follow up on planned interventions
• Support the change and release process

What we are looking for

Essential experience:

• 7 years of proven, in-depth experience in a BW/BW-on-HANA/BW4 and Native HANA context
• 5 years of proven experience as a BI consultant
• 7 years of proven experience with SAP BW reporting tools, including Analysis for Office
• Proven experience with data management (ETL)
• Proven experience with Databricks
• Proven experience with Power BI
• Proven experience with SAP Analytics Cloud
• Proven experience with SAP Datasphere
• Proven experience with SAP HANA Studio
• Proven experience with SAP ISU
• Proven experience with SQL scripts
• Fluent Dutch (CEFR level C2) for strong interaction with business stakeholders

Valuable additional experience:

• Experience in the Belgian energy sector
• Experience with ABAP development
• Experience with AMDP
• Experience with BW/4 Cockpit
• Experience with data vault modelling
• Experience with requirements analysis

The setting

This assignment runs from early November 2026 to early November 2027, with the possibility of extension.

The role is based in the Ghent region. The client's telework policy allows for remote work, though the frequency is determined in consultation with the team lead. Flexibility is expected for occasional travel to other locations and for being on-site more frequently during certain activities. Exceptionally, weekend releases may require work outside normal hours.
