Job summary

Capgemini Belgium is seeking a Senior CAE Engineer specializing in crash simulation to lead structural automotive exterior component analysis. You will own crash and durability simulations using LS-Dyna and Abaqus, mentor an offshore team, and drive design improvements with cross-functional stakeholders.

In a client-facing, hybrid work environment, you will coordinate with local and offshore teams, ensure high-quality deliverables, and help shape engineering decisions for automotive programmes

Qualifications

• 7+ years in CAE simulation.
• Strong hands-on experience in crash analysis using LS-Dyna and Abaqus.
• Exposure to NVH is a plus.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams and coordinate offshore resources.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural simulation activities for automotive exterior sub-components, ensuring high quality and adherence to project requirements.
• Own crash and durability simulations and validate designs against performance targets.

Embedded within a high-profile automotive programme, you will lead a team, drive quality, and collaborate closely with both local stakeholders and offshore resources to deliver outstanding engineering results.In this role you will play a key role in:Leading and coordinating structural simulation activities for automotive exterior sub-components, ensuring all deliverables meet the highest quality standards and comply with project requirementsTaking ownership of crash analysis and durability simulations, applying deep technical expertise in LS-Dyna and Abaqus to evaluate component behaviour and validate designs against defined performance targetsDriving root cause analysis processes when simulation results do not meet initial requirements, identifying failure modes and proposing technically sound corrective actionsCollaborating closely with design teams and cross-functional stakeholders to suggest and lead design modifications, translating simulation insights into actionable engineering improvementsActing as technical leader and main point of contact for local stakeholders, coordinating and mentoring an offshore simulation team to ensure consistent methodologies and delivery performance across geographically distributed resourcesYOUR PROFILEWe are looking for a technically driven and collaborative engineer who thrives in a client-facing, leadership-oriented environment within the automotive industry.Proven experience of 7+ years in CAE simulation, with strong hands-on expertise in crash analysis using LS-Dyna and ideally Abaqus, and exposure to Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) — a genuine plus in this roleSolid background in automotive structural simulation, with experience on exterior components and a sound understanding of design concepts, manufacturing constraints, and OEM requirementsDemonstrated ability to lead technical teams, coordinate offshore resources, and take responsibility for the quality and consistency of simulation deliverables across complex, multi-stakeholder projectsStrong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present technical findings clearly to both engineering and non-engineering audiences, and to collaborate effectively across design, simulation, and client teamsWhat you'll love about wo rking here:At Capgemini Belgium we offer flexibility in more than one way: next to our hybrid way of working, where we offer you can work 70% from home, we also offer our flex abroad program.
