Capgemini Engineering in Brussels seeks an Automation Engineer for Life Sciences to design, program and commission automation systems in GMP manufacturing and lab settings. You will work with PLC, SCADA, DCS and HMI solutions, ensuring regulatory compliance and robust documentation.

We value hands-on experience in GMP environments, knowledge of GAMP 5, 21 CFR Part 11, and EU Annex 11, and collaboration across process, quality and validation teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial automation within Life Sciences.
• Hands-on experience with PLC, SCADA, DCS, or HMI systems.
• Strong knowledge of GMP regulations and automation standards (GAMP 5, 21 CFR Part 11, EU Annex 11).
• Bachelor's degree in a related field and ability to work in Brussels multilingual environment.

Responsabilités

• Design, program, and commission automation systems for GMP manufacturing and laboratory environments.
• Develop and maintain automation software, documenting control code per regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with process engineers, QA, and validation teams to ensure project delivery.

In this role you will play a key role in:Designing, programming, and commissioning automation systems including PLCs, SCADA, DCS, and HMI solutions for use in GMP-regulated manufacturing and laboratory environments, ensuring full compliance with industry standards.Developing and maintaining automation software by writing, testing, and documenting control system code in line with regulatory requirements such as GAMP 5, 21 CFR Part 11, and EU Annex 11.Collaborating with cross-functional teams including process engineers, quality assurance, and validation teams to define automation requirements, support system integration, and ensure seamless project delivery.Troubleshooting and resolving automation system issues by performing root cause analyses, implementing corrective actions, and ensuring minimal disruption to production or laboratory operations.Supporting qualification and validation activities for automated systems by contributing to the preparation of validation documentation, including URS, FS, DS, and test protocols, in alignment with GMP guidelines.Your ProfileWe are looking for a technically skilled and driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
