Job summary

Miele Belux is seeking a Senior Accountant to safeguard financial integrity across Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and France. You will act as the pivot between financial processes, people and administration, coordinating with controllers, our shared services centre and external advisors to ensure accurate accounting.

You will identify bottlenecks and risks, support audits and tax compliance, and contribute to regional process harmonization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting, economics, business administration.
• +8 years of experience in a similar role.
• Strong accounting foundation with closing periods, balance sheet ownership and statutory and tax reporting.
• Handles sensitive financial information with confidentiality and integrity.
• Communicates financial information clearly to colleagues, management and auditors.
• Proactive, detail-oriented with a drive for process harmonization across the region.
• Experience in multinational, multi-location matrix environment.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end and year-end closing activities with global shared services teams.
• Ensure accurate bookings, accruals, reconciliations, and allocations to cost and profit centers.
• Be a key contact for external and internal audits.
• Support tax and legal compliance processes including VAT and statutory declarations.
• Evaluate internal controls and risks and provide improvement recommendations.
• Contribute to Belgian and global process optimization projects.
• Support FP&A with financial transparency, reporting and follow-up.

Together with the controllers, shared service centre and external parties, such as our accountants and advisors, you ensure accurate accounting. This not only involves the correct administration of the figures, but also identifying bottlenecks and risks in terms of legislation and regulations. What you will be doing:

The Senior Accountant plays a vital role in maintaining the financial integrity of the organization by ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, timely processing of transactions, and compliance with group financial policies and local regulatory requirements. The role supports effective financial management through attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to excellence. You are the first point of contact within the Belgium affiliate and the right hand of the Accounting Manager covering the cluster of Belgium/Luxembourg/Netherlands/France.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support month-end and year-end closing activities for the Belgian entity in collaboration with our global shared services (MGS) teams in Poland.
• Ensure accurate bookings, accruals, reconciliations, and allocations to cost and profit centers.
• Be a key point of contact for external and internal audit matters.
• Support tax and legal compliance processes, including VAT, and other statutory declarations.
• Evaluate internal systems, controls, and risks, and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Contribute to Belgian and global process optimization projects.
• Support the FP&A team with financial transparency, reporting, and follow-up.

• Experience in a multinational, multi-location matrix environment.
• Experience working with SAP is an advantage, proficiency in Excel.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Dutch/French, both written and verbal.
