Lyreco Group in Belgium is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager Benelux to lead accounting across Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg from its Antwerp (Berchem) office and to drive professionalization and transformation of the Finance organization. Are you an experienced Accounting Manager with a passion for people leadership, financial expertise and process optimization? We are looking for a driven Accounting Manager Benelux who will lead the accounting activities across our Benelux organization from our office in Antwerp (Berchem) and actively contribute to the further professionalization and transformation of our Finance organization. As Accounting Manager, you will hold a key position within the Benelux Finance organization. You will be responsible for the accounting activities of 5 legal entities across Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, ensuring accurate, timely and reliable financial reporting and statutory compliance. You will lead and develop the Accounting team across Berchem and Vottem, fostering a culture of collaboration, ownership, quality and continuous improvement. You will also play an important role in strengthening our internal control framework, harmonizing processes and driving further automation within Finance.
Ensure accurate, complete and timely accounting and financial reporting for all Benelux entities. Coordinate and oversee the monthly, quarterly and year-end closing processes in line with Group reporting timelines and requirements. Ensure the preparation, accuracy and timely filing of statutory financial statements, in cooperation with external auditors. Ensure compliance with local GAAP, applicable accounting legislation and Group accounting policies. Oversee statutory reporting, VAT reporting, corporate tax requirements and other local financial compliance obligations. Ensure appropriate financial controls and reconciliations are in place to safeguard the quality and reliability of the financial accounts. Act as the key point of contact for internal and external audits and coordinate the timely follow-up of audit findings.
Lead, coach and further develop the Accounting team across Berchem and Vottem, including the AP Accountants based at the Vottem site. Create a culture of collaboration, accountability, quality and continuous improvement. Ensure clear roles, responsibilities, processes and ways of working across the different teams and locations. Support team members in their professional development and actively follow up on individual growth and development plans. Build a strong and engaged Accounting team that combines operational excellence with a continuous improvement mindset.
Drive the standardization, optimization and harmonization of accounting processes across the Benelux entities. Strengthen the internal control framework and ensure effective follow-up of financial compliance requirements. Identify opportunities to simplify processes, reduce manual activities and improve the efficiency and quality of Finance operations. Actively contribute to automation, digitalization and continuous improvement initiatives within Finance. Represent Accounting in transformation and cross-functional projects, including system implementations, integrations (M&A) and organizational changes. Promote consistent use of systems, processes and accounting standards across entities and locations.
Act as a trusted sparring partner to the Directors and local management. Work closely with Controlling, Treasury, Marketing, Supply Chain, Group Finance and other teams. Collaborate effectively with stakeholders throughout the international Group. Represent Accounting in cross-functional projects and ensure that accounting, compliance and internal control requirements are appropriately considered. Translate Group Finance requirements into effective local processes and ensure alignment between local and Group stakeholders.
We are looking for a finance professional who combines strong accounting expertise and accuracy with inspiring people leadership and a genuine drive for process improvement and transformation. You hold a Master's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field. You bring 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in Accounting or Finance, including proven experience in a people management role. You have demonstrated the ability to lead, coach and develop a team, ideally across multiple locations. Experience with multi-entity accounting in an international or matrix organization is a strong asset. You have a strong understanding of local GAAP and accounting requirements. Knowledge of IFRS is an asset. You have good knowledge of VAT regulations, corporate income tax and statutory reporting requirements. You have experience with process optimization, standardization and change or transformation projects. You are familiar with SAP or a comparable ERP environment, or are able to quickly develop a strong understanding of the system. You are analytical, accurate and process-driven, while maintaining a pragmatic and solution-oriented mindset. You communicate fluently in Dutch and English, both verbally and in writing. French is an asset. You are comfortable working in an international environment with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities. You are willing to travel regularly between Berchem and Vottem.
