Job summary

Miele Belux is seeking a Senior Accountant to maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely processing of transactions within the Belgium entity. You will collaborate with the Accounting Manager, shared services, and external advisors to manage compliance and reporting.

You will be the first point of contact in Belgium for financial matters, supporting audits, tax, and regulatory requirements while contributing to process improvements and FP&A support.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end and year-end closing for Belgium entity.
• Ensure accurate bookings, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Act as a point of contact for audits and regulatory filings.
• Support tax and legal compliance processes, including VAT declarations.
• Evaluate controls and suggest process improvements.
• Contribute to process optimization projects.
• Assist FP&A with reporting and transparency.

What you will be doing

The Senior Accountant plays a vital role in maintaining the financial integrity of the organization by ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, timely processing of transactions, and compliance with group financial policies and local regulatory requirements. The role supports effective financial management through attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to excellence. You are the first point of contact within the Belgium affiliate and the right hand of the Accounting Manager covering the cluster of Belgium/Luxembourg/Netherlands/France.

Key Responsibilities

• Support month-end and year-end closing activities for the Belgian entity in collaboration with our global shared services (MGS) teams in Poland.
• Ensure accurate bookings, accruals, reconciliations, and allocations to cost and profit centers.
• Be a key point of contact for external and internal audit matters.
• Support tax and legal compliance processes, including VAT, and other statutory declarations.
• Evaluate internal systems, controls, and risks, and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Contribute to Belgian and global process optimization projects.
• Support the FP&A team with financial transparency, reporting, and follow-up.
