WLG is seeking a Safety Lead to oversee occupational health and safety during a major Brussels relocation. The role spans construction completion, staff move-in and early operation, requiring a proactive safety conscience across multi-disciplinary teams.

The successful candidate will conduct risk assessments on live sites, develop safe procedures, and ensure fire, ergonomics and emergency readiness while coordinating with project managers, facilities, security and medical teams.

Qualifications

• Solid occupational health and safety background with real experience in construction or facilities environments.
• Confidence running risk assessments on live sites and coordinating with contractors.
• Experience in emergency preparedness, fire safety and ergonomics in a large workplace.
• Facility management or building construction experience is highly desirable.
• Clear written and spoken English with diplomacy to work across many stakeholders.

Responsabilités

• Provide continuous occupational health and safety advice across the relocation, mitigating risks around construction completion, staff move-in and operational start-up.
• Coordinate the safety aspects of the building project with the transition project manager, facilities, security and medical teams, meeting safety requirements.
• Conduct and oversee risk assessments for each transitional activity to identify and control hazards.
• Develop and implement safe working procedures and emergency preparedness measures for the new site.
• Monitor compliance and assure safety readiness of the new premises (fire safety, evacuation routes, first-aid, ergonomics).
• Act as the focal point for incident prevention and response during the transition.
• Preserve safety knowledge and hand over risk registers and contractor management across stages.
• Support post-occupancy evaluation and capture lessons learned for corrective measures.
• Prepare and deliver periodic safety reports and status updates.
