Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Software Engineer – Storage in Belgium to build a high-performance, open-source storage platform. You will work across the stack from client tools to storage servers and edge networks, solving distributed systems challenges and enabling scalable asset management.

You will collaborate with a global team, enhance APIs and tooling, and contribute to upstream projects while improving upload/download reliability and developer experience for millions of users.

Qualifications

• 5+ years backend engineering experience in production.
• Experience designing or operating highly scalable distributed systems.
• Full-stack comfort: backend development, infra deployment, monitoring and scaling.
• Familiarity with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus and Grafana for observability.
• Strong PostgreSQL production experience, including tuning and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Enhance storage capabilities and analytics storage offerings.
• Optimize asset delivery and edge infrastructure for performance.
• Improve storage server performance, observability, and reliability.
• Develop storage exploration tooling with frontend colleagues.
• Improve APIs, client libraries, and CLI tooling for a seamless dev workflow.
• Strengthen upload/download reliability across clients and environments.
• Contribute to open-source storage components and upstream projects.
• Address escalated issues and implement systemic improvements.
• Work across backend, infra deployment, monitoring, and service operations.
• Drive end-to-end engineering initiatives from problem to delivery.
