Jobgether in Belgium is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer specializing in orchestration to design and build core backend services for high‑performance distributed systems. You will own critical technical decisions, focusing on scalability, reliability, and long-term maintainability in a fully remote, product‑driven environment.

You will collaborate across teams to improve developer experience, contribute to testing strategies, and develop frameworks and tools to support customers and partners.

Qualifications

• Experience designing backend services for distributed systems.
• Proficient in building developer frameworks and integration tools.
• Strong communication and ability to work autonomously in a remote team.
• Experience with Python is advantageous.
• Familiarity with TDD/BDD and modern development practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain core backend services for high-performance distributed systems.
• Take ownership of key technical decisions balancing scalability, reliability, maintainability, and delivery speed.
• Build and optimize backend architecture to support evolving product requirements and growth.
• Write clean, well-tested code following engineering standards.
• Develop and improve frameworks, tools, and workflows for smooth integrations for customers and partners.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions aligned with user and business needs.
• Conduct code reviews and share knowledge to improve practices.
• Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for long-term maintainability.
• Contribute to improving payment workflows and developer experience for merchants and partners.
